The ones at alton towers (theme park in the UK) are definitely impossible. The good prizes, at least, are way too heavy for the claw to pick up. You can see the claw pick them up, then they just slip out as the claw opens back up slowly due to the weight. I'm not quite sure how they're legal actually...
